The testimony of Enoch

It was once again my privilege and pleasure to speak at a Sovereign Grace Advent testimony meeting in London last night.

My subject was, “The Testimony of the Prophets to the return of Christ – the testimony of Enoch.”

I sincerely trust that the message is a blessing to your soul.

Please pray for the witness of the SGAT, a somewhat unique witness in the midst of this unbelieving world and a church that is careless regarding these things.

Scripture: Hebrews 11:5, “Enoch pleased God”.

Stream or download The testimony of Enoch.

I must confess that I jumped at this subject when I was invited to speak this year. I have loved the verses 14-15 of Jude since ever I first read them. “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

They carry us back to the earliest days of this earth. Adam was still alive when Enoch preached this message. There is not a great deal said about Enoch in the Bible when we count the words written about him. However, as is ever with the Word of God very much is contained in the smallest statements. God calls His Word a seed. In every seed there is a million harvests and more!
So it is with God’s precious Word. Psalm 33:6 states: “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.” Even ungodly man acknowledges that the Universe is without boundary and we believe it all came about through the Word of God!

What is said about Enoch is small in volume yet mightily abundant in beneficial and blessed information.

I would like to highlight that best known statement of scripture regarding Enoch. “Enoch pleased God”. We find this truth regarding Enoch in Hebrews 11:5.
What a statement this is! I would like to make it the basis of our study. May we learn how it was Enoch pleased God and thereby how we may please God for what pleased God some 5000 years ago pleases Him still today and will forever.

In my daily Bible reading some time ago, (it was last month,) I read these words in John’s second epistle, verses 4-5. “I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.”
I thought to myself as I read the words that the directive given of God as to how we ought walk dates back to “the beginning” of the revelation of God to mankind. God’s Word is unaltered and unalterable!
How foolish and wrong are those who try to tell us that God has some new revelation for us, different from that which is found inHis Word! The prophet Isaiah said: “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever,” Isaiah 40:8. “Change and decay in all around I see,” said the hymn writer, but the great exception is the Word of God. It shall ‘stand’ for ever!

I. ENOCH PLEASED GOD BY WALKING IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS WORD
This distinguished him from all around . The world was ‘waling away from God’. “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually,” Genesis 6:5.

1. That it is stated that Enoch walked with God suggests that others did not! Undoubtedly, the spirit of Cain was what motivated many back in those days. Rejection of God’s way of salvation, murder, polygamy and slaughter were already common, Genesis 4. There was no written Word in Enoch’s day but an oral testimony of what God had revealed to His people was available. Adam would have been able to relate what he knew of God’s will, though his knowledge had been greatly reduced by his fall into sin. However, he had received instructions from the Lord following that  dreadful event. He was instructed in how dreadful his sin was and the dire consequences that had thus befallen all his offspring. He would also have been instructed in the means of salvation through the promised Messiah and how that God was to be worshipped through the expression of faith in the promised Messiah, that faith being manifested by the offering of a lamb.

This oral testimony of God’s will was rejected even as the inspired, written Word of God is rejected today.

2. Enoch was saved at the age of 65. “And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: and Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters,” Genesis 5:21-22. How often the birth of a child brings home to the sinner that God is merciful and the Author of life.

It would appear that as Noah was warned of God “of things not seen as yet” (Hebrews 11:7) even so Enoch was warned of that same event for he named the child born at the time of his conversion, “Methuselah”. According to many, the name means “when he dies there shall be an emission,” or a sending forth of waters upon the earth to destroy it.
An essential aspect of walking with God today is our believing and acting upon the warnings of a coming judgment upon this earth. “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” 2 Peter 3:10-12.

We must also warn our children and so teach them that daily they are reminded of this truth! How many Christian parents ever would act, when naming their children, as did Enoch. Yet this is part of pleasing God today!

3. Enoch walked with God for 300 years amidst increasing wickedness. What we read in Genesis 6, was surely beginning to show itself before Enoch was translated. “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  . . . . . And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth,” Genesis 6:5, 12. What the Lord sees as sin, man does not!!
This tells us that even in the midst of great sin and rebellion we may walk with God. As Joshua and Caleb feared God and followed Him wholly, even so may we find grace to live in victory and faithfulness to God amidst today’s apostasy.

II. ENOCH PLEASED GOD BY CONTENDING WITH THE REBELS OF HIS DAY
Jude says of Enoch: “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these,” verse 14. We may easily identify who is referred to by the word ‘these’. The reference is to those “certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ,” verse 4.
Jude traces their pedigree in the subsequent verses. This spirit of apostasy in the days of Jude had manifested itself amongst the angels, Cain, the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Hebrews in Egypt, Korah (Core) Balaam and in the days of Enoch.

1. Enoch preached against these apostates. This surely is a rebuke against those ‘evangelicals’ who remain silent in the face of today’s apostasy or, worse still, associate themselves with them in cooperation and fellowship!

2. The preaching of Enoch was most plain! He called them ‘ungodly’ or ungodlike, which means ‘those destitute of any likeness to God.’ He spoke of their ungodly deeds and lives. He condemned their ‘hard speeches’ against Christ. The untameable tongue (James 3:8) is the chief weapon employed against Christ and His Word and His people!

3. He plainly declared their coming judgment. “Behold, the Lord cometh . . . . to execute judgment upon all.” I have no doubt that he spoke plainly of the Lord ‘sending forth waters upon the earth to destroy it’ and explaining that the flood would be but a foretaste of a future and eternal judgment.

III. ENOCH PLEASED GOD BY PROPHESYING OF THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
Let every supporter of the SGAT note this and take heart!

1. I think that we can rightly conclude that the number of the faithful was small in the days that led up to the flood. Approximately 1000 years passed from the conversion of Enoch and 700 years from his translation, until the flood came. It is likely that when Methuselah died in the year the flood came, he was the last of the believers on the face of the earth with the exception of Noah and his family. I believe that likewise we are destined to live in a day in which the number of the faithful will decline greatly! Remember what the Saviour said. “And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:7-8. That is an ominous statement of which we need to take heed! Yet, dear Christian, what an honour to be one of this small band!

2. It was God’s means of encouraging His saints in the time of trouble to have His servants preach of the Second Coming. That glorious event has ever been the hope of the Church. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ,” Titus 2:11-13. The people of God need to be taught to ‘look’ for the ‘the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ’! What a dreadful tendency there is amongst us to forget. Every Communion Table is a testimony of our forgetfulness.
How much the Church today needs the message of Enoch preached amidst the sneers of those who profess Christ yet belittle the plain teaching of the Bible on the return of Christ!

3. In these days when the return of Christ is openly denied, it pleases God to hear it preached. “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation,” 2 Peter 3:3-4.
Here is the spirit of the world today and it has ‘infected’ so many of God’s people! While they may not deny the truth of the return of Christ they deny what the Bible says about that imminent return. Instead of believing the simple truth of what God says they substitute ’spiritualisation’ which in truth, denies the reality of the Second Coming as it is set forth in Holy Scripture. The whole matter becomes a vague and mystifying event about which no one can really be sure of any element of it. That is, in effect, to deny the Second Coming!

The Lord Jesus Christ ‘is coming again’ and He shall come again “in like manner” as He was seen to “go into heaven,” Acts 1:11. Zechariah, some 2500 years ago, said: “Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee,” 14:3-5. The circumstances prevailing in Jerusalem at the time of the Saviour’s return were set forth by Zechariah in the chapters 12-14. The glorious event has been long planned and long revealed to God’s people but sadly, unlike Enoch, so many today are slumbering and sleeping and carelessly disregarding this glorious and wonderful and long awaited event!

Dear Christian, seek to emulate the great man Enoch in these matters and thereby fulfil your highest calling – pleasing God!

A timely exposure of the DUP’s hypocrisy!

“For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known,” Luke 12:22.

I think that politicians would especially need to take this to heart and observe its truth.

I am publishing an article written by Mr Sam McBride, the political analyst of the “Belfast News Letter”. It appeared in the edition of Saturday 13th July this year and is reproduced at the end of this article.

The general information of the article is good but one section in his article is what I wish to highlight, and I have highlighted it in bold red type in the body of the article, but I want to further highlight it by quoting here part of what I wish readers to particularly note!

“On Tuesday morning, one experienced DUP figure did not expect Mr McGinn’s amendment to be called but acknowledged that if it was accepted then it was likely to pass. A liberal DUP member, speaking as the debate was ongoing, said of the same-sex marriage amendment: “I think it will go through. I hope it does. I also believe quietly that 50% of DUP members feel the same.”

But while there has been a growing acceptance within the DUP that same-sex marriage was likely to become law, many party members feel more strongly about abortion and did not expect such radical change to pass.” Read more

The Matter of Homosexuality, Lesbianism, Same-Sex Marriages etc.

This article, by Mr Bob Burton, was passed to me by a friend in Australia, brother Paul Owens, to whom it had been sent that he might consider it and inform the writer of his opinion.

Having read the article, I most certainly agree with the writer’s views of the dreadful sin of sodomy and much admire the manner in which he has set forth the teaching of God’s Word on the subject.

I do not personally know Mr Burton but on the basis of what he states here in this article, I believe him to be one who holds fast to God’s Law.

For that reason I am having the article mounted on ‘The Burning Bush’ that it might be shared to the spiritual profit of our many readers. Read more

Philip McGarry: Contrasting words of Pam Morrison and Gerry Adams reflect the better angels of our nature or the worst of our past

Last week saw two very significant and contrasting interpretations of our recent history in Northern Ireland.

The first was the moving testimony of Pam Morrison, speaking publicly for the first time about her three brothers who were separately hunted down and murdered by the IRA in rural Fermanagh in the 1980s.

The second was the funeral of Kevin Mc Kenna (pictured), allegedly a former IRA leader. Read more

It is the duty of the servant of God to warn of coming judgement.

“But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand,” Ezekiel 33:6-8.

A watchman must be in contact and communion with the Lord and ‘hearing’ His Word!
The warning he must give is strong and stern! “When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die.” Consequently it is not a welcome message and the messenger will suffer reproach.

But better that than finding the blood of the unwarned wicked required by the Lord at your hand! Read more

Ancient city of Babylon designated Unesco World Heritage Site

There are those who believe that the prophecy of Jeremiah (and other similar prophecies) given in Jeremiah 13:19-22, were fulfilled in the days of Daniel.

Here is what Jeremiah said of the fate of Babylon at the hands of the Lord in judgment.
“And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there. But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.” Read more

Israel Folau under attack for his witness against sodomite perversions!

The following information about Mr Israel Folau is taken from the Wikipedia site.

“Israel Folau (Tongan: Isileli Folau; born 3 April 1989) is an Australian professional rugby union player who most recently played for the New South Wales Waratahs in Super Rugby. He has previously played professional rugby league and Australian rules football. In 2019, he became the record holder for most tries scored in Super Rugby history.
Folau’s statements regarding marriage, homosexuality and transgender issues brought him into conflict with the administrators of Rugby Australia (RA), and in 2019 they terminated his contract. Folau has appealed the termination to the Fair Work Commission.

Raised a Mormon, Folau converted to the Assemblies of God Pentecostal church as an adult. In 2017, he dissented from Rugby Australia’s announcement of support for the ‘Yes’ case in the national plebiscite on same-sex marriage, and later expressed the Pentecostal view that gay people should repent or face Hell, earning a rebuke from Rugby Australia. Signed soon after by RA to a four-year contract, Folau shared a similar biblical quote before Easter 2019. Rugby Australia alleged that this constituted a “high level” breach of its “inclusiveness” commitment and announced an intention to sack him. The matter was considered in a disciplinary hearing and his contract with Rugby Australia was terminated.” Read more…

The withdrawal of common grace

For some time I have been pondering this subject. I see the undeniable increase in lawlessness and sin amongst the nations as proof that in judgment God is withdrawing His restraint upon wicked men.

So it will continue until the end of this age, which surely draws very near!

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness,” 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them,” 2 Timothy 3:13-14.

These two passages tell us clearly the trends we will see developing in the very end of this age. Read more

Why antisemitism will continue until the end of this age

“But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee,” Deuteronomy 28:15.

On June 22nd and 23rd I read chapters 27 and 28 of Deuteronomy each year as I follow the Robert Murray McCheyne Bible Reading Calendar in my daily readings.

As I read these chapters a few days ago, I took note of the terrible judgments threatened against Israel all those ages ago, some 3500 years ago.

There is a price to pay for disobeying God and trampling underfoot His mercies and kindnesses! There is a lesson in that for every sinner and for every child of God and every assembly of God’s people. But I will return to that a little later.

First of all I want to address the subject of my title: Why antisemitism will continue until the end of this age.

Part of the judgment threatened here upon Israel, should they cast aside God and His Law is that of a spirit of bitter enmity amongst the nations of the earth toward Israel. Read more

‘The Adventures of a Bible.’

On 12th May, Rev. Jonathan Creane, minister of Convoy Free Presbyterian Church and minister in charge of Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church, told a wonderful story to illustrate the power of God’s precious Word during his message that Sabbath morning.Amongst the belongings of an elderly Christian aunt of his wife, who had passed away, a tract was found in her old Bible which was entitled: “The Adventures of a Bible.” It was the substance of that tract that Rev Creane repeated that day in Kilskeery.

It was a most moving story! The recording of his telling of the story was heard by a friend in the USA to whom I send articles ands recordings. He was so blessed by it he played the recording in his church.

I related the story to another friend, a minister who called by on a recent Saturday. He immediately recognised the story and said that he had a copy of the tract. He sent me a digital copy of it and I reproduce it here.

I have not been able to discover who Dr J H Townsend is, but I believe that because the lady, in whose Bible the copy of the tract used by  Rev Creane was found, was a member of a Brethren Assembly, the meeting in Dublin which is at the heart of this story was a Brethren meeting and the company which published the tract was a well-known Brethren publisher, it is likely that Dr Townsend was a Brethren preacher.

I would value any information on the gentleman’s identity that any of you may know.

Here is the story which touched my heart most deeply as I listened to the wonderful story of the power of God’s Word and the merciful grace which was manifested to those featured in this story.

When being vexed is not enough

“And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; and delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)” 2 Peter 2:5-8.

Recent events in Ulster, when the hierarchy of the Democratic Unionists Party took it upon themselves to sanction a sodomite standing as a candidate for that party in the local government elections, has been a grief and a vexation to many Christians, including some within the the DUP.

Sadly, it would appear that we cannot say ‘all’ Christians within the DUP for some seem very capable of hiding that grief and giving no outward appearance of sorrow at the actions of their party leaders.

However, there comes a time when being ‘vexed’ is not enough! Vexation must be manifested. Read more

DUP sinks still further with lesbian council candidate

This an excellent article which highlights the sad decline of the DUP from its first policies and practice. We commend it to our readers.

There have been recent reports in the press in which some Free Presbyterian DUP members have sought to say that there has been no change in DUP policy.

It just cannot be denied that it is NOW that party’s policy to select and sanction a sodomite candidate, spending members’ money to have her elected, claiming that she is an ‘excellent candidate’ and that their supporters should vote for her!

Those who would deny the truth of these statements are acting as the proverbial ostrich and but showing themselves up as ‘defenders of the indefensible’!!!”

A statement by the Presbytery officers on our Church’s position on marriage

This is a statement formulated by the officers of Presbytery in the light of what is currently taking place in the Province in terms of the increasing promotion of sodomy. It is our intention to release this statement to the press. Please pray that it will be used by the Lord.

The Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster unreservedly subscribes to the fundamental principle that God’s infallible Word is the final authority on all matters of faith and practice. Accordingly, the Free Presbyterian Church publicly re-emphasises its purpose to uphold the clear revelation of Scripture that marriage is a covenant and conjugal union between a man and a woman, (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-5). As Christ’s teaching in this Matthew 19 passage reveals, this divine injunction of marriage between male and female is binding upon all of mankind throughout all time.  The injunction is designed to provide the only framework within which stable family life can exist. Consequently, the pathway to the improvement of society is found in adherence to the Biblical principle of marriage. “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people,” (Proverbs 14:34).

In keeping with this clear Biblical teaching and authority, the Free Presbyterian Church underlines its opposition to all marital and sexual relationships outside the covenant of Biblical marriage. Scripture clearly reveals that such marital and sexual relationships are sinful and will prohibit entrance into the Kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 – “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators…nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind…shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

Therefore, as a Church we are saddened by the attempts of political parties to normalise and promote marital and sexual relationships that are in contravention of the clear teaching of Scripture. We would remind political leaders that they are subject to God’s moral law and should endeavour to honour it, keeping in mind that one day all men will give an account of themselves to God (Romans 14:12). We would also put on record the Biblical reminder that only through repentance from such sin and by faith in Christ alone will forgiveness and acceptance with God be obtained (1 Corinthians 6:11).

The Christian’s confidence

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ,” Philippians 1:6.

From this verse I would like to set before you some considerations suggested by what it is Paul wrote.

The word ‘confident’ used by Paul is a very strong word. It speaks of a very strong and firm persuasion. It was an unshakeable assurance. Thus Paul speaks of the Christian grace evident in the lives of the Philippians. What he remembers of them utterly convinces him of their conversion to Christ through faith in the gospel message. Read more

The true character of the ‘sainted’ Lyra McKee

I was sent a link to a video recording of Lyra McKee going on about that which was the chief purpose of her life, defending and advancing that which God calls an ‘abomination’ and utterly repudiates in the inspired writing of the apostle Paul in Romans 1:16-32.
I give that link at the end of this article and I would ask readers to listen at least from 9 minutes in until the end.

McKee claims that she met a ‘Free Presbyterian’ mother, a church attender, in a ‘gay bar’ where the mother was accompanying her sodomite son in order to support him.

Now, as one who experienced the blessings of the years of what was revival blessing in the 60s and 70s and who still believes in the standards embraced by that generation of Free Presbyterians, I find it hard, indeed almost impossible to believe that a mother who is in truth a ‘Free Presbyterian Church attender’ could be guilty of such conduct as is here alleged. Read more

Rev. Foster responds to DUP’s endorsement of a Sodomite candidate for Council election

Alison Bennington

Sir,

It is with sadness and many misgivings that I note that the DUP have endorsed a candidate, one Alison Bennington, who defies the laws of God and nature and openly proclaims herself ‘gay’ or to use the Biblical term, a Sodomite!

It is clear that the DUP has now utterly repudiated its founding principles and that in order to win over a small section of voters, whose support no God-fearing person would wish to have.

In order to obtain such support, the DUP is prepared to abandon abandon God and His obedient people in order to get the support of those abandoned by God!!

Church of Ireland prayer event in Papist monastery in ‘Relentless’ march to Rome

Canon Jim Carson

A Church of Ireland prayer event has been hosted in Clonard Monastery in west Belfast.

Just take a moment to think about that.

Clonard Monastery, a hub of Romanist worship, in which prayers are offered for the dead and the blasphemous Mass sees Christ sacrificed again and again, was hosting a Church of Ireland prayer event.

The ‘Relentless’ prayer initiative is an event being run throughout Lent.

According to the Diocese of Connor website: “Each day during Lent, a prayer space will be available for people to drop in and spend time in quietness to reflect and pray”. Read more on the Protestant Revival website

‘Grave sucking’ and dead raising – Journey Community Church hosts ‘supernatural’ Bethel movement

John Ashe, Journey Community Church

The Bethel Ministries megachurch, based in Redding, California, is well known for its outrageous antics and Christ defying behaviour.

From promoting extra-biblical revelation to attempting to raise people from the dead, it really doesn’t take much discernment to know this church is filled to the brim with heresy.

Then there is the falling gold dust and feathers which appear at their meetings, apparently sent by God, as He often did that in the Bible. Oh no wait, He didn’t.

A “glory cloud” also apparently appears at meetings, similar to the pillar of cloud that guided Moses and the children of Israel. One would imagine they would deny a smoke machine is in any way utilised at meetings. Read more on the Protestant Revival website.

News review for week ending Friday 12th April 2019

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion, Psalm 2:1-6.

Will Methodist ministers stand up against transgender uniforms at Methody College?

Rev David Campton, Methodist minister and board member of Methody College

Now the battle over sodomy is more or less won by the Christ deniers in the western world, the next battleground they have turned their attention to is transgenderism.

As was the case with sodomy, nothing but total surrender to the transgender cause will do, and all must fall before this sacred sow of secularism. If you don’t believe that’s how such servants of the devil operate, just look at the abuse received by anti-abortion and anti-sodomy sections of Northern Irish society for holding back the tide of depravity attempting to sweep through our land.

The same spirit as that highlighted in Habakkuk 2:5 is evident here. It says: “Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people”. Read more on the Protestant Revival website.

The sad ignorance that abounds in the ranks of professing Protestants!!

“This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness,” Ephesians 4:17-19.

Just a few days ago, I received an email from a lady who had taken umbrage at my criticism of an Irish Presbyterian minister in an article I wrote back in February 2016.

The brief exchange (2nd – 3rd April) that followed will, I am sure, prove of interest and also helpful to those of God’s people who have faced similar satanic ‘blasts’!

I have no wish to embarrass the lady in question so I have removed everything that may identify her.

Christian, please pray for her and the many like her, deceived by the lies of ecumenical false prophets in the mainline churches. Read more

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him,  Jude 14-15.

In controversies of this nature, no one ever addresses the unbiblical doctrines of Rome! It is merely an urging of change based upon the changing of religious views and notions of the ‘crowd’. God’s Word has no part in such thinking!!!

55th anniversary of my conversion.

Friday 5th of April is the 55th anniversary of my conversion. I found this recording of me giving my testimony in Mountain View Bible Bible Church, Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA, on 12th April 1992.

I was asked to give my testimony and also to speak of affairs in Northern Ireland.

What I had to say back then reflects the views and hopes we entertained for Ulster before the sad events that surrounded the tragic political events of the DUP entering power-sharing with Sinn Fein/IRA in 2007.

I trust the Lord will bless the witness to all who listen to this message which has been played and downloaded 1000s of times when it was available on SermonAudio.

Sincerely in Christ,

Ivan Foster.

Archeology bears testimony to the accuracy of the Bible!

The Christian does not require the endorsement of archeology in order to believe the Bible! We say with the Psalmist: “Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever,” Psalm 119:160.

Of course we welcome the testimony of the past emerging to declare the truth of God’s Word and trust that the unbeliever will take note. What the Saviour says in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus must however, be noted. “If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead,” Luke 16:31. Read more
